making friends…

there ought
to be more
synapses
reminding us
to be joyous,
to mull over
tenderness,
to plunge
into love, to hold
contentment
a breath longer –
there ought
to be time
stretched out
for this,
suspended,
and even
then, still
a little more
.

Nice entry. Making friends. 🙂
thank you!! i always enjoy this time of the year (smile).
fantastic photo! where was this taken? – rita
union square, nyc. thank you!!
magnificent shot there .
thank you!! glad i caught it.
The woman seems to be holding a palm frond that Catholics wave during Palm Sunday. If she IS catholic, then she and the man are of different faiths. That would add an even deeper meaning to this wonderful photo. 🙂
thank you for dropping by and commenting. she is actually holding a lulav. during the Jewish holiday of Sukkot, you see many Hasidic Jewish men offering both the lulav and the etrog, for you to shake and smell and say blessings.
Oh, thanks for clearing that up. That is a beautiful tradition. No wonder there’s such delight in that lady’s face and you captured it at just the right moment. 🙂
thank you! i also watched her shake the lulav and smell the citrus.
Great capture!! That’s a great opportunity!
(smile) thank you! i wonder how long the blessing lasts.
I love this photo. We shake the lulav and etrog every year, and as far as I know, the blessing lasts through the year. One of my favorite traditions! AND, you caught it beautifully. 🙂
ah, next time, i should really approach one of them. for some reason, they never approach me to ask me if i’m Jewish (smile).
That’s got to be a new version of the lightsaber she’s holding. Nice photo!
thank you!!
