again and again
i stumble
upon pain,
failing to grasp
the true nature
of things
.

for some, it takes time
to build up
tolerance.
for others, it comes
naturally, with no
perceived limitations,
no instinctual need
to purge.
but bodies are
mysterious, and some
secrets, overwhelming.
it’s a draw on which
will break down first,
risk harm, balance.
