Bartenders occupy an unusual place in mainstream culture. Basically they’re the dispensers of a Legal Drug. They give people what they request.
The lighting and his expression combine to create a surreal atmosphere. Alchemy is taking place before our eyes. He’s a magician, a warlock, a man mixing a drink–for whom?
he was conjuring up drinks all night (smile). i think he did make me one of these grapefruit and vodka mixes, of which i generously drank a good third! (smile)
