left off, alongside hidden
trails, straight roads, and
winding highways.
and like that common
summer wildflower,
at any given
moment, we are
simultaneous –
at myriad stages
of blossoming –
budding, opened
flat, parachuting,
or closed, with a
fist-like vitality
