there are a few things
that a hot plate of
chicken and waffles
can’t cure. for that,
they have brûléed
grapefruit – the
last of it just
melts away

I should have had lunch before venturing here 🙂
and so it goes…(smile) thank you for venturing!
Wasn’t there a song in a movie about chicken and waffles? Oh my gosh, I just googled it for you… hahaha!!!… Here is the link to the You Tube video from the movie “Tapeheads”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9dBiw7xfVU
Enjoy!!! (Favorite line: “Waffle’s just pancakes with little squares on ’em!”)
wow! i’ll take a listen, but just wanted to say that waffles are certainly not pancakes! they’re so much better! pancakes are smooshed waffles…that don’t taste good (crunchy, etc.) anymore. do i smell a debate?
Hahaha… My favorite line in the song was not so much for agreeing with it, as it was just a funny way of defining a waffle in a rhyme. Now if you go the way of the crepe… and I mean the real French ones, cooked to perfection, not those frozen things in a wrapper, we could step into the ring! 🙂 Seriously, though, I love the breakfast food groups, and I can throw down a mean waffle, complete with the Cinderella imprinting from our fancy schmancy waffle iron! Hope you laughed at the You Tube video! It’s super silly…
Bruleed Grapefruit?! Why didn’t I ever think of that?
and now that you have, i don’t think you can ever go back…here’s a recipe i found online: http://thekitcheniscalling.wordpress.com/2012/01/10/bruleed-grapefruit/ (smile) enjoy, y
loved the youtube video! and you’re right, that was the best line – it’s probably due to the accent, too! (smile) thank you for sharing.
It really does look too good to eat 🙂
ha! i don’t know about that…YUM!
