Those birds are so fascinating! Did you know they eat half their body weight in sugar every single day?
And their heart beats 1.200 times / pr minute..
oh, yes, we saw this PBS special on it – even up to twice their weight, some say…here’s the full episode. my Dad just hung up three (first, two – now, three) feeders, two with homemade nectar and one with our favorite (perilla tea, just a test – (smile)). looks like they liked it — i hope to catch them the next time i visit.
What an exhausting life 🙂
