   in this part of the
   country, the sun
   unfurls a heated
   wet blanket, an
   oshibori of sorts,
   as a gesture of
   summer’s arrival.
   there is, however,
   little courtesy
   involved, and
   the only thing
   that feels
   wrung are our
   withering bodies
   .
