i suppose we never saw it
truly the way you saw
it – this is what it means
when we hear people say
they take it for granted.
on a day to day basis, the
gift of living somehow
chooses us, and maybe
half of the time, we act
as if we’ve been
shoved, the act of
breathing forced
down into our lungs.
yes, it’s more subtle
than that, much more
subtle. try to hold
one breath and
piece it together
