   on the way to buying
   more time, we found
   that we had been pick-
   pocketed precisely three
   or four flyovers
   ago – part of the
   charm of living
   a stone’s throw
   away from two major
   airports is the
   opportunity
   to glimpse
   the future
   gliding in on
   metallic wings
   .
