   there is a version
   of being cornered
   that looks like letting
   your hair down.
   it comes
   with basic
   squirming, a bit
   of flailing, and
   finally, a slow
   slide into the
   arctic waters –
   you’ve
   seen it. it’s
   the one where they
   cut to the scene of
   a lone ice floe
   bobbing for balance
   while the kill has
   just begun
   .
