can’t quite figure it out…what’s your analysis? (smile)
Try this:
Joe has left this note for someone who passes by this tree often enough to see it. Joe wants/needs the specific reader to know that he, Joe, is clean and sober. Perhaps it’s important to Joe to share this information with this reader–a lover, friend, relative, family member? Perhaps Joe keeps his distance from his hoped for reader because of his former lack of sobriety. Hence, this simple means to communicate via printed message taped to tree.
