   i hide things – i am mostly fantastic
   at hiding things that i would not want
   to find on my very best days, let alone
   allow you to discover on the most
   sober –

   things like a broken A-string, a wristband
   to the last mountain goats concert, the first
   lip balm container finished together, the train
   stub you abandoned from Union to Penn,
   a poorly calculated brush stroke –

   sometimes memories last longer than hiding places
   .
