  2. I absolutely love this photo. Volumes of poems could be written using it as inspiration. The warmth of the light in the windows in the background, the blossoms on the ground, the blossoms on the tree, the vehicles, the whiteness of the bike like it’s a spirit bike. Apt photo for your poem, here, also. Thanks for sharing!

    • i think it is a ghost bike – in memorial of a biker’s life on that street corner. thank you.

      • A ‘ghost bike’–wow–I’ve never put those two words together. What an intriguing thought, Yi-Ching. Oh what a series of stories can be written about a ghost bike in NYC. wow—

  3. i like the color composition…

was that bike used in Ghostbusters 2, by any chance?

  4. Y,
Wow! That makes it an even more amazing photo / poem combo. While I’m sure it was written from your perspective, I’m sure it also applies to those who lost the cyclist. I did a quick search and found this site:

I think you’re correct in your thought that it’s a ghost bike. I have a nephew and nephew-in-law that both do a lot of cycling so it made it that much more real for me.

I really like the line “individually, together” as it can apply to how the days are counted or who is counting the days. Wonderful mixed meaning.

    Peace,

    Stephen
